History of the castle grounds

The Queen's Park Golf Club Myštěves is located in a triangle formed by the towns of Městec Králové, Hradec Králové and Dvůr Králové, ie towns, which were in the Middle Ages the so-called dowry towns of Czech queens, respectively. wives of Czech kings. Likewise, the town of Nový Bydžov, located in the immediate vicinity of Myštěvse, was a dowry town of Czech queens.

Therefore, the name Q.P.G.C., Queen's Park Golf Club Myštěves. The original mansion with the adjoining manor was established in the 18th century. This manor was bought in 1897 by knight Gaston Ritter von Mallmann (his coat of arms on the front of the mansion), who carried out a complete rebuilding of the mansion in the neo-Baroque style and established an English castle park here. This gentleman, perhaps because of the high cost of this remodeling - local memory rather speaks of disproportionate holdings of carbane and other pleasures of this nobleman - was forced to stop the entire estate and then leave the Land Bank in Prague, which in 1913 as a whole sold to then known Prague physician, founder of the Podolska Maternity Hospital, professor of gynecology and obstetrics at Charles University in Prague, prof. MUDr. Václav Piťha and his wife Hermína. The first signs of the golf game in Myštejn date back to 1930, as evidenced by the photo below from the private archive of the Vice President of the Czech Golf Federation, Mr. Prokop Sedlák. In 1950, however, the whole property was nationalized to the Pitha family.

In the 1950s, the Communists first established a prison for special people at the mansion. In 1976, Czechoslovak Television transferred the entire premises to better society-wide use. The ČST recreation and training center was established here, where all the celebrities of the pre-November culture stayed and filmed.

In 1991/92, the whole estate was returned to the Pit family and a project was developed to build a sports and socially exclusive golf course with 27 holes. In contrast to other golf courses in Europe, Q.P.G.C. not only the chateau park, but also the chateau's own chateau, which has a top club, catering and accommodation base (European golf tourism) are integrated in Myštejn. An important advantage is the high quality and demandingness of the built 18-hole course (total length of about 6,400 m).
