Dye Fore

The newest course and the third by Pete Dye at the luxurious Casa de Campo resort in La Romana is unique with a 300-foot deep river gorge, Mediterranean village Altos de Chavon, mountains and the Caribbean Sea as backdrops. The course itself is expansive measuring a long 7,770 feet with fairways 200-feet wide. Although visually intimidating, the course is very playable and golfers have been raving about the new addition.

Big is the word to describe Dye Fore original 18 holes. The fairways are wide, the bunkers are big, the undulation severe and the greens are huge. The challenge is to be able to play shots from different lies. Flat lies are not common on Dye Fore except on the teeing grounds. It is important while you play that you look forward and backwards because the best views might be behind you instead of in front of you. When you start on # 1 the long par five, look back after your second shot and you will see the best view of Altos de Chavon, nothing like it.The entire course is Paspalum except the greens are Tifdwarf Bermuda.

Dye Fore Lakes - 9 holes

Location: North East side of the Original Dye Fore

Officially Opened Sept. 2011 * Par 36

5 Holes are played around three huge lakes. A flatter 9 then the other 18 holes at Dye Fore but more strategically placed fairway bunkers, which helps you keep your focus on the task at hand. The two par 3 holes are extremely intimidating and difficult. Small greens running along the border of a lake. No place to bail out.
